Sustain the Nine, River to Bayou: A website for the Lower 9th Ward Center for Sustainable Engagement & Development
Created for CSED, SustainTheNine.org captures the spirit, struggles and successes of this post-Hurricane Katrina nonprofit devoted to rebuilding New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward as a sustainable community devoted to social justice and resilience. The site's thematic focus is on three CSED strategic initiatives – Food Security, Natural Environment and Built Environment – with additional emphasis on Volunteers and Community (history, culture). Throughout, the site features custom photography and rich interaction design to engage local residents, partners and funders to better understand CSED's ongoing mission and goals.
The entire site is built on a Drupal framework, integrated with a TypePad blog.
